Ronald Ddungu to represent Africa at the Microsoft Worldwide Innovative Teachers’ Forum to be held in Hong Kong (3 -6) Nov, 2008.

Ronald Ddungu, a teacher of Mathematics and Physics at Gayaza High School and a very active member of the SchoolNet Uganda network has been selected by Microsoft to represent African teachers at the Microsoft Worldwide Innovative Teachers’ Forum to be held in Hong Kong (3 -6) Nov, 2008 where he will be presenting his mathematics community project. Microsoft is meeting all his expenses for participation including air travel, accommodation and feeding.

It should be remembered that Ronald Ddungu was the best in the community category at the Microsoft Africa Innovative Teachers’ Forum which was held in Accra, Ghana in June, 2008.

We at SchoolNet Uganda are very proud of Ronald’s achievements because it gives us a lot of motivation and inspiration. Our slogan still remains “Aspire to Inspire Before You Expire”.

The objectives of the Microsoft Worldwide Innovative Teachers’ Forum are to:

  • Recognize educators from around the world and choose the best examples of technology integration that supports teaching and learning.
  • Provide worldwide networking opportunities among top innovators.
  • Promote International sharing of innovative practices at technology integration.
  • Learn from each other about the state of Educational Technology around the globe.

We at SchoolNet Uganda Secretariat would like to encourage all the teachers to become innovative. With innovation and Technology, the sky is no longer the limit.
