Impact of the Student Peer Educator Training (Dec 2012) on my life by Omamure Henry, Tororo Town College

The World Starts With Me (WSWM) workshop held at Gayaza High School (4th -10th ) Dec 2012  had a positive impact on my life.

  • I gained confidence since everyone was given a chance to address a large number of people.
  • I gained skills of making homemade pads, computer skills and acting skills.
  • I learned that I need to think before I act. Before making a decision, I to compare different ideas from which to choose the best option.
  • I learned that if you set a dream and focus on achieving it, you will but along the way. You should expect challenges and you need to prepare to overcome them.
  • I discovered that I had a talent in acting when my group asked to act a certain character.
  • I improved my questioning and listening skills. I also learned that I need to choose carefully the words I say to both myself and to others.

I commit myself to share the skills and knowledge I got from the workshop with fellow students, teachers and parents and friends so that I can cause the change I want to see in my community. I hope to come back in future as a “World Starts With Me” facilitator.
