It was on the 27th August 2015 that I started my journey to the workshop from home. I was escorted by my Mum who granted me a chance to come for the workshop for training trainers of peer educators. She told me a lot of things among which was respect. She told me about the life in Kampala and how to associate with the group of people.

I also felt much comforted about my coming to attend the training because I have to attend, gain skills so as to help me to impart the relevant information concerning health to people in my community and as the whole world at large. I have to attend the training of course because I to achieve my dream of being a doctor in future as per help, I’m expecting to be.

At the workshop, I was able to use the PowerPoint, use Internet for a research and was able to open my personal email.

I also gained some skills on how to interact with the new friends created while I was at the training workshop.

From the beginning, we were introduced to the facilitators so that in case of any difficulties, we may consult them. During the workshop, I was able to learn and know more about the new friends that I met for instance their names, background and the schools they came from.

I experienced and learnt a lot concerning the Internet for the research work.

I do encourage the youth to attend any workshop pertaining the peer educators because I gained more knowledge that was beyond my expectation among which was understanding the procedures of making homemade sanitary pads, how to impart the information in form of verbal speeches, composition among others that made me more excited and appreciated myself for what I have become.

I got to know the kind of changes which take place in the human body such as the ovulation, the menstruation period that the young girls under go. This made me to gain some skills on how to help such girls who may be in need. The workshop also made me to learn that issues concerning health should be exposed to everybody for emergency help in case such things happen.

I learn’t how to express myself to the public and many others just to mentioned but a few

In conclusion, I do encourage youth to be trained to help the community.
