Self-Esteem by Nalumansi Costance of Buwagga SSS (Wakiso)

SELF-ESTEEM is feeling good about yourself. First and foremost, I want to talk about the important of self-esteem to a girl-child. If you lack self-esteem it may lead to prostitution whereby you are influenced by your friends to go and get a “Sugar Daddy” in order to acquire money or materialistic things.

Dear girls if you lack self-esteem, it leads to having no developmental and educative ideas. Low self-esteem leads some girls to having envy and short-tempers in that they don’t want to see others excelling or having good things.

Dear girls, have you ever though that you are valuable, you are important. Value yourself, feel proud of yourself, and appreciate yourself because that is how God created you.

Self-esteem helps us to develop our knowledge and social ideas. Self-esteem helps us to control ourselves against the problems and the challenges that come our way.

My advice to you young girls in schools, join educative clubs in schools like the World Starts With Me (WSWM) because they will help you build your self-esteem.  Join good friends; consult concerned older people like parents and teachers for advice.
