Poem: “Hope Never Runs Dry” by Wanyenze Miriam, Dabani Girls SS

HOPE NEVER RUNS DRY

It seems like yesterday
When poverty, AIDS and the cruelty of life
I was excluded from education.
And I become vulnerable to so many risks of life.
The preys of life were at the verge of destroying me.
But a savior came in, in the name of the world starts with me club.
Oh hope, hope never runs dry.

Opportunity presented themselves and made the most out of them.
Potentials we soon realized from the once rendered desperate.

They are now counselors, teachers and social workers.
They are in all walks of life
They are the role model of the world starts with me.
It was not an easy road through.
And it’s not easy either.
But hope never runs dry.

We are pride of the world starts with me club.
The shield of the nation.
Tomorrow’s leaders who will make Uganda a better place to live in.
Yes! I can assure you of this
Because I know the world starts with me, with you and with us
