Dear Counselor, for how long should a person abstain from sexual intercourse?

Sexual intercourse comes with a number of responsibilities and consequences. One should abstain until one is willing and able to handle the consequences and responsibilities which come with getting involved in early sexual intercourse.
Young people should abstain till they are through with their education, get a partner, test for HIV, marry and be faithful to one sexual partner.
