Dear Counselor, why was the program called “The World Starts with Me” (WSWM)? And what are the objectives of the project and how many schools are participating in the program?

The Name the ‘World Starts With Me’ takes to dynamic interpretations from different people. It seeks in you, your ability to challenge to your individual interpretation, contemplation of your self and reflection of your life in relation to yourself and the World around you.

If you want to change others, you must change yourself first.
“You must be the change you want to see in the world” — Mahatma Gandhi.

Some of the Project targets are;-

  • To equip you with factual information on sexual , reproductive health and rights
  • To empower you with the ability to share your opinions, attitudes, and to open your mind to learning more about your development in a youth friendly way.
  • To avail you the young people an opportunity to discover skills in IT and enrich your lives with dynamic skills.
  • To equip you with the knownledge, skills and attitudes to make the correct and informed decisions about your life.

You need to use an opportunity  available to use to not only actively participate in “The World Starts With Me” (WSWM) but also share what you have learned in the project with your peers and parents.

This year 2009, the WSWM program is being implemented by SchoolNet Uganda in 150 secondary schools in 33 districts across  Uganda.
