Who are you?
When you give me company
I forget my family
I forget my work
I forget paying taxes
I forget reaching home
And l retain none of valuable friends.

What is so special in you?
When you give me company
I forget eating
I forget bathing
I forget praying
I forget road signs
And l become public disgrace.

What are you exactly?
When you give me company
I forget that my daughter is not my wife
I forget that an animal is not a woman
I forget that STIs are courting me
I forget that my diet is ruined
And prison or deaths embrace me.

What force do you have?
When you give me company
I lose the sense of direction
Because sight is lost
l lose grip on ground
Because my body is dehydrated and weak
I can no longer hold on to you.

A wonderful exploration of the social effects of alcohol. These are the major causes of irresponsible humans in societies, poverty, social unrest and rampant sexual abuse. See the innocent young souls losing hope and direction in the irresponsible hands of drug abusers. Who to save this world? YOU and ME have a role to play.
Also important, look at the healthy effects of Alcohol:
Excess alcohol can increase your risk of:
    Liver disease
    High blood pressure
    High blood fats (triglycerides)
    Heart failure
    Stroke
Fetal alcohol syndrome (if you’re pregnant)
    Certain cancers
    Injury, violence, and death
And, of course, drinking too much alcohol piles on the calories, which can lead to obesity and a higher risk for diabetes.

For some segments of the population, alcohol can lead to many health problems. Those who should not drink include:
    Pregnant and breastfeeding women
Women at risk for breast cancer
People with family histories of alcohol abuse
    Children and adolescents
People taking medications that can interact with alcohol
Those with health conditions such as liver problems or ulcers
Thanks so much for your contribution.
    STEPHEN BAGANZI
