Poem: Drug Abuse by Obonyo Silver, Kisoko High School

Drug abuse, Drug abuse
Taking charge of our homes,
Schools, and the whole nation
Sweet at the takers
But dangerous substance

Drug abuse, drug abuse
Marijuana, opium, alcohol
Man’s destroyer
Friendly when consuming
But it’s outcomes are merciless.
Emerging into school dropout, domestic violence
In our families

Drug abuse, drug abuse
All kinds of diseases you cause such as
Lung cancer, insanity you cause, on drug abuse,
Ruining our future,
Ruining our generation
My young brothers and sisters stay away
From drug abuse

Drug abuse, drug abuse
Leading to insanity to the takers
Anti-social behaviors you cause such as
Rape, defilement, prostitution, because you control
Our brains; oh! Drug abuse the merciless killer
My fellow youths, parents, stakeholders
Stay away from drug abuse for a better health
And future
