Poem: THE STRENGTH OF A WOMAN by Esther Bafumba of Iganga Progressive SS

A woman, so great, so beautiful a creation
Very tender, fragile and kind
Yet strong hearted, hardworking and powerful
Loved everywhere but always mistreated

A woman, a wonderful creation
Educate her and you have educated the world
For everything starts with her
In her womb great men and women
Are carried

On her breasts all have been fed
On her laps we are all laid
Oh! How strong she is!

How proud it is to be a woman!
I wish everyone experienced this
She loves unconditionally
Brings joy and hope amidst despair
Give her an office, you will see a Jennifer Musisi!
In the kitchen, Oh!
You will bite your finger
In Parliament, you will have a genius

Though the world looks at her as weak
The world has made her a pillar
Present to her an opportunity and you
Will see how strong she is.
